Thank you for visiting the Bridgeport Chiropractic Center web site. I hope it will be a convenient means of sharing my thoughts with you about my background and about my practice philosophy. This is my personal page. I do not propose to speak for my entire profession; I simply want to share some of the thoughts that have evolved over nearly thirty years that I have been in practice. Some of my opinions may differ from those of some other practitioners in my field, but I think there is more than enough room for diversity of opinion. I feel the best utilization of my services is as a specialist in care of musculoskeletal complaints. In that respect I can complement the services of a primary care physician. Unless insurance coverage dictates otherwise, many people refer themselves for care, using me as their portal of entry into the healthcare system. In situations where referral by a primary care physician is required for coverage, I am willing and able to effectively coordinate your care with him or her. Click on this link for my thoughts on interprofessional relations. Physician visitors can click "Physicians" to see material that I hope will be helpful to them if they are considering making a chiropractic referral. I do not anticipate posting specific clinical advice. An exception to that thought is a somewhat long item on the use of cold vs. heat as therapy. Over the years I have seen many instances of people whose conditions have innocently been made worse by inappropriate use of heating pads. I hope my comments on the subject can help somebody avoid that pitfall. But, while I strongly believe that self-help is wonderful, I do not think online advice is a suitable replacement for the information you should receive in person.
